Things to Come

Merry Christmas! I hope your day was as fantastic as mine (except for my scratchy throat and annoying cough). I also hope you're excited for the return of Samurai Penguin in January. Now, I have some sad news. Due to other demands on my time, I will only be updating SP once a month for the foreseeable future. I will still continue to do two Grim's Days Off, though. If this was my only job, I'd be able to do more, but alas...

Also in the coming year, I will be hosting an art contest with (hopefully) wonderful prizes for the winner. Stay tuned for more info on that.

Question

New Digs

I'm currently working on a new website for Samurai Penguin. It's still not exactly what I want, seeing as how it's on a free website hosting site and has some limitations, but it's looking pretty good. This blog will still be up, but only to direct people to the new site. I'll let you know when it's ready!

In Scene Four of Samurai Penguin, I introduced two new characters- Gosuto and a little fella who appeared from the bushes. You'll learn more about each soon, but I was wondering if anyone had a guess about what kind of animals they might be? Post your guess in the comments! Scene Five will be here on Friday.

I've set up a shop with cafepress that will offer merchandise for Samurai Penguin, Grim's Days Off, and my YA fantasy novels. Right now there is only one design available, but I will be adding more soon. Come take a look!

Thought I'd give an early heads up. I will be taking a break during December, which means no new Scenes of Samurai Penguin during that time. It will be hectic with Christmas and family things and I don't want to add to the stress. I will, however, continue my Grim's Days Off on the 7th and 21st.

Between Scenes

I have a plan to post a simple comic between each Scene of Samurai Penguin. It will essentially be one picture, most likely without words, featuring the Grim Reaper. I call it Grim's Days Off. It will be things the Grim Reaper might do when he's not collecting souls of the dead. I'll start posting them on Oct. 7 and add a new one on the 7th and 21st of each month. Sound like a plan? Excellent. Hope you're looking forward to Scene Two of Samurai Penguin, coming Sunday!

A Good Week

There has been some great traffic here and I want to thank those of you who have taken a moment to check out Samurai Penguin. I really didn't know what to expect. There are thousands of webcomics out there and I was afraid that I'd get lost in the mix. I've been pleasantly surprised! If you liked Scene One, I hope you might mention it to your friends. Word of mouth is one of the greatest things ever. I'll be sharing a sneak peek pic of Scene Two in the next few days. And please like my page on FB! I'll use it to announce news and other info.

Coming soon...

I will be posting the first "page" (I'm not sure what I'm officially calling them yet) of Samurai Penguin on Sunday, Sept. 14. The plan is to add a new post every 14th and 28th of each month. I've got about 3 months' worth finished and am steadily working on more to put in my reserve. If you didn't already know, this blog is just a temporary home for Samurai Penguin. My husband will soon be creating a website that will be the real home for Kuroshiro and his adventures. Hope to see you on Sunday!
